Kay Shaffer is one of Southwest Floridas most exciting new artists. She is a self-taught textile artist specializing in fine art batik. Each hand-waxed,hand-dyed, one of a kind creation has a depth of compostion and beautiful vibrant color pallet that is rarely seen in batik. She uses primarily brush techniques with the wax resist that gives each work of art its own special fluidity and emotion.
Each original fine art batik shown is created in combed cotton broadcloth.
They are stretched and secured on 16X20 canvas and framed.
